Job Title: Grocery Store Assistant / Shelf Stocker & Delivery Helper
Key Responsibilities:
1. Store & Shelf Operations (Stocker/Storekeeper Duties - Primary Role):
- Receiving Stock: Unloading and verifying incoming stock from suppliers.
- Shelf Management: Efficiently stocking shelves, racks, and displays with merchandise (applying FIFO to ensure freshness).
- Presentation: Ensuring products are neatly displayed, faced, and priced correctly.
- Inventory & Quality: Checking for and removing damaged, expired, or spoiled products. Assisting with inventory counts.
- Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, aisles, and backroom.
- Customer Service: Assisting customers in finding products and answering basic queries in-store.
2. Delivery Support (Delivery Helper/Walker Duties - Secondary Role):
- Order Picking: Accurately selecting and bagging/boxing items for customer orders.
- Local Delivery (On-Foot): If applicable, hand-delivering small orders to nearby customers (within a short walking distance) or within a building complex.
- Delivery Assistance: Assisting the licensed delivery driver by loading and unloading the vehicle, and carrying the final order from the vehicle to the customer's door.
- Payment Handling: Collecting cash or managing receipts for completed orders.
- Professionalism: Providing polite and courteous service to customers during drop-off.
Typical Requirements:
- No UAE Driving License Required.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy boxes and stand for long hours.
- Good communication skills (English is often required).
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
- A strong customer service-oriented attitude.
